After the end date of their last term/session, students' CalNet accounts enter a grace period. The grace period is designed to give users time to transition away from using campus services.
Students have 274 days after the last day of the term/session to continue accessing the following services:
- bConnected Google account, including bMail
- CalCentral (CalCentral will change to an Alumni Portal view 14 days after the end of the term)
- bCourses
Note that some services are not available to a user when they are in grace, such as VPN.
At the end of the grace period, access to these accounts will be disabled. For additional details about this grace period, please visit this website.
Other campus services (such as the library or RSF) usually end on the last date of the term; however, this can vary because each of the providers uses different systems for tracking and verification.
CalCentral Alumni Portal
CalCentral accounts will be converted to an Alumni Portal 14 days after the term ends. "Alumni" visiting students will only have access to check their academic summary, review/pay their bill(s), and update their personal information. Students will need to retain their CalNet ID and passphrase to access their alumni accounts.
