You should be fully aware of all F-1 regulations and it is your responsibility to maintain your F-1 nonimmigrant status while you are in the U.S.
It is important to carefully review information from your I-20 and understand all the various regulations that may affect your F-1 status.
F-1 International students must follow these important rules.
- You must remain enrolled full-time.
- You must report your Arrival and U.S address in CalCentral within 10 days of arrival.
- If you are transferring from another school, you must complete the transfer procedure within 15 days of the program start date noted on your Form I-20.
- You must update any changes to your U.S. Address and phone number within 10 days.
- You are not permitted to accept employment off campus without prior authorization.
- You must leave the U.S. or take action before the end of your 60-day grace period.
Of course, there are many other rules and regulations that apply to international students. If you are unsure of something, be sure to contact International Student Services. We are here to help!
