You can make payments in CalCentral on the “My Finances” page.
There are a few different options on how to pay your fee for summer sessions:
- e-Check
- Credit Card
- International Funds Transfer
- Payment via Check
For information about each of these options, please visit studentbilling.berkeley.edu. Note: The Fee Payment Plan (FPP) is not available for summer tuition and fees. For more information, please see our article on Partial Payments.
When Do I Pay My Fees?
All students will pay their fees in CalCentral. UC Berkeley's billing system runs on a 30-day cycle, however, student accounts are updated daily as new charges are assessed and/or other fees are incurred by the student. Your payment due date will depend on what type of student you are and when you enroll.
UC Students
UC Students must pay their fees by the first day of the summer term (in May) or no more than 14 days from the time of enrollment, whichever is later. Your due date will appear in Cal Central. UC students are not automatically dropped from classes for non-payment or non-attendance in the summer term. If you do not plan to attend, you must drop your class(es) before the refund deadlines, or you will be financially responsible for fees.
Visiting Students
Visiting students are required to pay their fee in full within seven days of enrollment, or they will be automatically dropped from classes. Please contact summer@berkeley.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
My Payment was Declined. Why?
First, contact your credit card company or the bank to clarify why the transaction was declined. Often it is due to a billing address discrepancy or transaction limit. If the bank can't confirm, please contact Billing and Payments Services through Cal Student Central for further review and resolution.
Will I Receive a Billing Statement?
Students are responsible for staying up to date on their charges and payments to avoid being dropped for non-payment and/or incurring late fees. Billing statements are sent to your berkeley.edu email address once a month for as long as a debit/credit transaction happens on the account. Your billing summary is also available online on CalCentral under the “My Finances” tab.
Who Do I Contact If I Have a Question About My Bill?
For any questions relating to your Summer billing statement or questions regarding summer charges, please contact Berkeley Summer Sessions.
