Applications for summer sessions are non-competitive and open to the general public. Anyone who has graduated from high school can attend UC Berkeley during the summer term with more than 800 different courses available to students.
For Visiting Summer Sessions students, please find below a general timeline for the process of selecting courses, applying, and enrolling:
- The Class Schedule is released online in mid-December. You can find the course listings at classes.berkeley.edu using the "Summer Sessions 2026" filter.
- The application opens on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 for visiting students. Fill out the Visiting Student Summer Application (domestic or international).
- All Visiting applicants must confirm their identity via a secure, automated Identity Verification process and pay an application fee in order to submit an application.
- About 48 hours after you've applied, you will get an email with your UC Berkeley Student ID number and instructions to set up your CalNet account. After doing this, in CalCentral, you will complete all required tasks and enroll in courses.
- International Students: After you have enrolled in courses, you will receive an invitation their ISS portal. See our visa website and International student section of our Help Center for more information.
- Tuition and fees will be due in CalCentral 7 days after your first enrollment. (Visiting students who fail to pay the fees before the deadline may be dropped from their course(s) for non-payment. Please read the Drop for Non Payment Policy.
