In light of the celebration of the Juneteenth holiday during the summer term, campus has approved a plan for Summer 2022 instruction.
Juneteenth will be observed on Monday, June 20, 2022 and in honor of the holiday, no classes will be held and University offices will be closed. Due to the impact on instructional hours with Memorial Day (May 30), Juneteenth (June 20), and Independence Day (July 4) all being observed on Mondays this year, adjustment to the academic calendar will be made to mitigate any loss of instructional hours.
Therefore, your Monday, June 20th schedule will now move to Friday, June 24th in place of the normal Friday schedule. This includes Session C courses that would have normally begun on Monday, June 20. Regular Friday classes will not meet on June 24th.
This change has been noted on the Academic Calendar here.
The University acknowledges that this may pose complications for those of you with courses scheduled on Mondays and Fridays. We encourage you to review your course syllabus at the start of your session and contact your instructor with any questions or concerns regarding your schedule on Friday, June 24th.
We thank you in advance for your flexibility as we make these necessary adjustments to summer instruction so we may welcome this annual celebration of our newest federal holiday.
