Applications for summer sessions are non-competitive and open to the general public. Anyone who has graduated from high school can attend UC Berkeley during the summer term with more than 800 different courses available to students.
For Visiting International Summer Sessions students, please find below a general timeline for the process of selecting courses, applying, and enrolling:
- The Class Schedule is released online in mid-December. You can find the course listings at classes.berkeley.edu using the "Summer Sessions 2025" filter.
- The application opens on February 18, 2025 for visiting students. Fill out the application online at summer.berkeley.edu/apply under “All Other Students and General Public.”
- About 48 hours after you've applied, you will get an email to set up your CalNet account. After doing this, in CalCentral, you will complete all required tasks and enroll in courses.
- After you have enrolled in courses, international students will receive an invitation their ISS portal. See our visa website for more information.
- Tuition and fees will be due in CalCentral 7 days after your first enrollment. (Visiting students who fail to pay the fees before the deadline may be dropped from their course(s) for non-payment. Please read the Drop for Non Payment Policy.
